10 Heating and Air Conditioning Tips
1. Set thermostats to 78 in the summer and 68 in the winter to maximize efficiency.
2. Run ceiling paddle fans on medium, blowing down in the summer.
3. Run ceiling paddle fans on low, blowing up in the winter.
4. Change your filters on the first day of the month...this way it will become habit and you won't forget
5. When you are installing new filters, make sure that they are facing in the correct direction. (look for arrow on
the side of the filters).
6. When the heat or air conditioning is running, make sure that the windows are locked to prevent air leakage.
7. Insulate electric wall plugs and wall switches with foam.
8. Caulk along baseboards with a clear sealant.
9. Close fireplace dampers when not burning a fire.
10. Caul around plumbing penetrations that come through walls beneath bathroom & kitchen sinks.
